CV Chamber supports successful policy resolutions

Comox Valley Chamber Supports Key Policy Wins at BC Chamber AGM

Courtenay, BC – June 6, 2025 – The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce proudly participated in the BC Chamber of Commerce’s 73rd Annual General Meeting and Policy Session, held June 4 in Nanaimo, where 38 new policy resolutions were adopted to guide provincial advocacy.

Among the successful resolutions, the Comox Valley Chamber offered its full support for Policy 11 (submitted by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce), aimed at adopting sustainable aviation fuel, and Policy 34 (submitted by the Delta Chamber of Commerce), calling for improvements to availability of intra-nasal naloxone. Both policies reflect critical issues raised by local businesses in the Comox Valley and align with the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to enabling a stronger, more resilient provincial economy.

Each year, member Chambers submit proposed policy resolutions to the BC Chamber for debate and vote at the AGM. Once adopted, these resolutions form the basis for the BC Chamber’s advocacy work with the provincial and federal governments, influencing legislative change that supports BC businesses across sectors and regions.

“The Chamber network’s policy process ensures grassroots issues from every corner of the province are heard at the highest levels,” said Tracey Clarke, Executive Director of the Comox Valley Chamber. “We’re pleased to see forward-thinking policies adopted that reflect both local concerns and provincial opportunities.”

The 2025–2026 Policy and Positions Manual is now available on the BC Chamber’s website.
